PROFESSIONAL – ETHICAL – ARTISTIC – ATHLETIC

The UK Professional Pole Championships is the first competition in the UK to give professional pole athletes and dancers the opportunity to compete against their peers through our three professional categories:
Instructor, Professional, and Elite.

The UKPPC aims to be a fair, ethical, professional, and transparent competition that recognises the athleticism and artistry of pole dance on a national stage.

FAQ

COMPETITOR QUERIES

  • To enter the UKPPC 2017, visit our Competitor Info page and download the Competitor Information Pack. This pack contains all the information you will need, from your entry form, to the rules and regulations, and judging criteria.

To enter you will need to fill in the entry form, and return this by email with your entry fee and details of your video submission for the video heat. Make sure you do this before the closing date; 10 August 2017.

    • The Instructor category is open to pole dancers who are paid to instruct but have never been paid to perform pole dancing and have not worked as a professional pole dancer as defined below.
    • The Professional category is open to pole dancers who are professional pole performers, or those who have worked as professional pole performers in the past. If an entrant is an instructor and professional performer they must enter the Professional category. For the purposes of the UKPPC, a professional performer is defined as any of the following:
      • Paid pole performers
      • Pole performers who regularly perform pro-bono i.e. professional standard performing work undertaken voluntarily and without payment as a public service or ‘favour’. This includes performing at charity events, fundraisers etc. If you are unsure whether or not this applies to you please ask prior to submitting your application.
      • Competitors who are required to exhibit pole at events, road-shows, exhibitions etc, as part of their employment (e.g. pole manufacturer reps, pole clothing/footwear reps etc).
    • The Elite category is open to those who have won, or been runner-up in a professional competition ‘of note’.

If you are still unsure which category is right for you, please get in touch using our online contact form.

  • Application to the UKPPC costs £30, payable when the application form is submitted. Payments can be made by BACS or PayPal. This cost is non-refundable but all applicants will receive full feedback and score sheets.

  • Any videos submitted that do not meet the requirements detailed in the Competitor Information Pack will not be accepted. If videos are deemed not to meet these criteria, competitors will be advised by email and given the opportunity to resubmit within 48 hours up until the closing date for entries. Only one resubmission will be allowed.

  • The results from the video heats will be emailed out to all competitors on 17 September 2017.

  • Feedback from the video heats will be emailed to all competitors within 14 days of 17 September 2017. If you have not received your feedback by 18 September please contact UKPPC directly using our online contact form.

  • Two 45mm X-Poles will be used at the Grand Final, one spinning and one static pole. Both poles will be 4.2 metres high.

  • A stage map can be found in the Competitor Information Pack.
